Don't Quick Apply!

Updated: May 6, 2020

In today's job market, most of us will be spending a lot of time doing our job searching online. With a plethora of job search sites out there, I've learned a few tips on things to do and not do that I'd like to share with you.

Today's Tip: Avoid Quick Apply! We've all had it happen, you spend hours applying for jobs, when behold! The next job you click on his a 'Quick Apply' button, no additional questions or work, just click the button! Although tempting and convenient, it really doesn't help you get to the employer the way you want to. "Quick Apply" will often just use a generic resume based on the information you gave them that doesn't look very nice. Not only that, but EVERYONE and their brother uses the quick apply option, so you have no chance to stand out! Instead, find the job on Indeed you want to apply for, then look up that company and apply on their website. That will help you see if they really are still applying (sometimes online posts on sites like Indeed are outdated), give you some information on the company and likely allow you to post your own nicely formatted resume!
