COVID-19 Update

Hello! I'm here to share a brief and thorough update related to our program and COVID-19. First a brief video from me:

And a more thorough update from Sarah Featherly, Director of Transitional Jobs:

On behalf of Career Path Services, I want to thank all our partners and participants for their patience and understanding during this extraordinary time of rapid change and uncertainty due to the public health crisis. From the beginning of the pandemic, through the Governor’s Stay Home Stay Healthy order, and now into the implementation of the State’s Safe Start phases and guidelines, our priority has been and will continue to be to protect the health and well-being of our staff, our participants, and our communities. As such, we want to provide you with some important updates on how we will operate through the remainder of June:

1. We have been authorized to continue paying our Community Jobs participants through June 30th based on their scheduled hours. This authorization is regardless of participants physically working on their host site or their county’s particular Safe Start phase.

2. Participants are allowed to return to work if they choose to do so. Prior to returning, we must verify the host site is in compliance with the State and county Safe Start phases and guidelines as well as continue to meet employment conditions set forth in WAC 388-310-1500.

3. Beginning June 1st, the Dept. of Commerce has authorized local contractors to receive new CJ referrals based on their internal budget and capacity. We are currently evaluating our remaining budget and will provide an update to our partners no later than June 15th if we have capacity to reopen referrals. For the time being, referral restrictions still apply.

If you have further questions regarding these updates, please feel free to contact your local Career Path Services representatives or reach out to me directly at

Thank you again for your patience and grace through these unprecedented times. We wish everyone a healthy and safe recovery as we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 crisis.
